Our exchange portal works like a car sales search engine. However there is a few differences: our module works using an intranet website, and thus can only be used by our clients’ employees. Furthermore, the vehicles are not really for sale but offered for transfer towards another driver/Business Unit (BU).
The BU offering the vehicle doesn’t need it but still has to bear its costs. The principle is that another BU that would need the vehicle becomes its owner and bears its costs.
The exchange portal allows you to easily post an ad using the vehicle’s specification sheet provided by Winflotte so you don’t have to enter these details manually. Every employee can have its own account and check the ads. If they are interested in a vehicle, they can simply book it. This will trigger a workflow to validate the transfer (e.g. validation by a fleet manager). If the transfer has been authorised, the vehicle is automatically assigned to the new BU and the BU’s fleet manager will see it in his vehicles fleet.
By limiting periods of inactivity and thus optimising the vehicles utilisation rate, this process reduces the number of vehicles in-fleet. Therefore, it produces savings and allows fleet managers to lower their costs.
